General Purpose
The purpose of the Ministry of Education is to govern the education of Genovian subjects in order to produce high-quality, intelligent Genovian citizens who are prepared for the complex, international world. The Ministry provides the resources, instructors, and guidance to support the numerous learning institutions throughout the realm, establishes the curriculum and standards used to educated citizens, and overlooks the examination process to determine whether or not students of Genovia’s Academies and Grade Schools are successful.

Minister of Education
Dr. Marilyn Moller
The Minister of Education is the highest authority within the Ministry of Education. The Minister’s duties include: meeting with the Prime Minister and HM the Queen to report on the MoE; leading meetings with the Department Directors; deciding on the Ministerial Budget; organizing reforms and campaigns hosted by the MoE; and representing the MoE in any additional way.
Chancellor of Education in Schools
Dr. Phillip Smith
The Chancellor of Education in Schools is responsible for instructing and governing education within Genovia’s Academies and Grade Schools. The Chancellor oversees the County Education Commissioners, District Superintendents, Academy Headmasters/Headmistresses, and Grade School Principals.
Department of Curriculum and Standards
Dr. Linda Armstrong, Director
The Department of Curriculum and Standards is responsible for deciding on and organizing what precisely will be taught to students. The department hosts annual conferences with national and international scholars to assist in the selection and refining of standards throughout the realm.
Department of Examinations
Dr. Andrew Barnes, Director
The Department of Examinations is responsible for writing and administering examinations at the conclusion of an academic year to determine if a student has adequately learned the required knowledge as described by the
curriculum. The Graduate Examination is also administered by the department as well.
Department of Special Education
Dr. Gary Ledebur, Director
The Department of Special Education is responsible for providing support to individuals who have a learning disability. The department provides students and instructors with additional resources, as well as adjusts students’ academic plans.
Department of Financial Planning
John Smith, Director
The Department of Financial Planning is responsible for providing Academies and Grade Schools with the required funds to support their students in instruction.
Department of Instructor Certification
Joanne Hutchison, Director
The Department of Instructor Certification is responsible for granting Instruction Certificates to individuals who want to teach in Genovian Academies and Grade Schools. The department maintains a list of accredited programs in Education from Higher Institutions, establishes the requirements needed to gain a certificate, and keeps track of current Certified Instructors’ additional training.
Department of Educational Research
Michael Winston, Director
The Department of Educational Research is responsible for providing the MoEd with information and data about current and future educational trends and methods. The department conducts surveys, research, and work with their Education Labs to find improved ways of instruction.
Department of Post-Graduate Assessment
Elizabeth Stopper, Director
The Department of Post-Graduate Assessment keeps track of students after graduation, and reports to other departments so that the curriculum may be updated.
Department of Academy Infrastructure
James Harper, Director
The Department of Academy Infrastructure maintains the quality of Academy Buildings. It provides resources to update computer systems, furniture, and educational appliances, as well as provides support and assistance in large building-size projects. The department is responsible for restoring and building new or out of date Academies.
Department of Grade School Infrastructure

The Department of Grade School Infrastructure maintains the quality of Grade School Buildings. It provides resources to update computer systems, furniture, and educational appliances, as well as provides support and assistance in large building-size projects. The department is responsible for restoring and building new or out of date Grade Schools.
